No-confidence motion moved by Trinamool Congress over FDI was disallowed in Lok Sabha on Thursday.
Though Trinamool motion was supported by BJD it lacked requisite numbers.
It was a loss of face for the voluble Mamata after the speaker Meira Kumar rejected her no-motion against the UPA on the FDI issue.
A minimum of 50 MPs are required for a no-confidence motion to go through but Mamta was not able to garner this number. Even BJD help could not take her to the magic number.
