The Purnea district police, including the DIG, walked the ramp in an unique attempt to spread the message of friendship among the people.
The ' Police Idol' programme was organised on the occasion of 150th anniversary of the foundation of Indian police during which DIG, Purnea range, B S Meena joined men in khakhi to walk the ramp amid cheering by the audience last night.

Scores of inspectors of police of the district participated in the event, which was inaugurated by district superintendent of police Amit Lodha.
Wards of the policemen too participated in the show, at which Purnea commissioner Brajesh Mehrotra was the chief guest.
Lodha said the event was aimed at bridging gap between the policemen and common men who otherwise dread the men in khakhi.
