Debt-ridden farmer commits suicide |

A debt-ridden farmer ended his life at Ajang village of Malegaon taluka in Nashik district, police said on Thursday.
Namdev Ambar Shelar, 70, set himself on fire on Wednesday after being unable to repay bank loan of Rs 1.5 lakh.
He sustained 100 percent burns and succumbed last evening, police said
Shelar had taken the loan to grow pomegranate crop at his five acres agricultural land, but was not able to repay it, they added.
